I have been singing with DWC since 1992. I met my partner in chorus and other members are a wonderful friendship base. I just retired from teaching 8th grade science.
Karen Slatt - Soprano II
I joined the chorus in 1990, during a very critical point in my life. I was fighting severe depression and was diagnosed with a dissociative disorder. My life had fallen apart. The Chorus gave me the opportunity to be involved in something that I love. They gave me hope and an environment to learn about myself and my potential. Today I am on the Board of Directors and I'm giving back to the Chorus what they have given to me. I'd like to thank all those who have helped me in my journey.

Like most people in Colorado, I was born in California. However, I moved here in 1985, slightly ahead of the exodus. That means I've been around almost as long as the Chorus has, and I've been in the Chorus since I moved here. Singing is a main focus of my life, along with writing and watching people. I have always found that the Chorus gave me ample opportunities for all of the above. I am proud of the Chorus and happy to be part of it.
