GALA
The Denver Women's Chorus is a member of GALA Choruses, (the Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses), an organization dedicated to providing leadership and inspiration to the Lesbian and Gay movement through excellence in the choral arts. GALA Choruses produces a national choral festival every four years, with the last one being in Montreal, Canada in July, 2004.
GALA Choruses was born in 1982 and is the world's only association committed to serving the lesbian and gay choral movement. It is an international organization of over 180 gay and lesbian choruses and small singing ensembles, with over 10,000 singers. GALA provides its member choruses with a wide array of support programs and services, including choral festivals, educational conferences and publications. The organization also provides grants for the commissioning of new choral works, facilitates networking among its member organizations, and is a resource center for it organizational and individual members
The Denver Women's Chorus was proud to be one of five Colorado organizations attending Festival 2004, the GALA conference in Montreal, Canada, last July. Many thanks for all of your support in getting the Denver Women's Chorus to Montreal.
